Wednesday, July 10
The temperature has risen noticeably in comparison to yesterday and it must be hell today at lower altitudes. The careful consideration of where to locate today's starting ground begins first thing in the morning. The weather is excellent, but the wind is a little stronger than it was yesterday. In light of its southeast direction, the option of Podkonicka Ples is discarded and at 11 o'clock it's up to the Nova Hola starting ground by cable car.
At the briefing, the same exact discipline as yesterday is announced, with the exception of the cursed hill of Magura, which is left out today. This shortens the route to 46km.
Several pilots take off shortly after the opening of the start window at 12:30, but they cannot manage to get up to the height necessary to head out on the route. Stefan Stefak and Jaroslav Jandúch take off, while most others are petering out slowy towards the landing ground. Seven minutes later both hotshots have disappeared northward and Peter Mensak, who was unable to get up to the key altitude, lands back at the starting ground a short while later.
The same waiting game as yesterday begins. Most pilots lie down, Robert Setnicka even falls asleep and because suddenly there's nothing more to look at, some of the spectators fall asleep as well.

Only after a long hour of waiting do the conditions begin to improve, even though the winds is still just as strong. Most pilots take off in one big wave and 10 minutes later the first six are finishing off their turning climbs high over the crest and head out on the route.
The enchanted spot today is the second turning point at the 20th kilometer. In the vicinity of the village of Vlkolinec, five pilots are forced to land and only four continue along the route. Five kilometers past the village, momentary lead racer Stefan Bendik finishes his flight, out flown only slightly by Jozef Kutlak and another 2km further on, Peter Mensak lands. Only Jaroslav Jandúch makes it to the third turning point at the 31st kilometer today, becoming the victor of today's discipline.
"We're not rich enough to drink in the shadow", some unnamed racers announce and start off today's party in front of the bed & breakfast, before sunset.
No changes took place in the first three positions of the overall placing, only the lead of Stefan Bendik over second-place Jaroslav Jandúch was shortened to a mere 51 points. Komaras Mecys, arriving after an agonizing drive all the way from Latvia, was added to the starting list, and despite his sleepiness he got right down to racing.
