Upon waking up in the morning I recall a good piece of advice I was given shortly before leaving for Slovakia on Saturday: "And don't drink everything that they pour you". There's something to that advice, but it's too late now ...
Light rain is falling from the overcast sky. At the 10 a.m. briefing it is decided that we will try our luck at the starting point at Stará kopa above Banská Bystrice. Slightly after midday everyone is in position. Even though the sun sometimes shines through the slightly overcast sky, the strong north-westerly does not allow for a safe start. The discipline is thus prepared and all that is left for us to do is wait for the opportunity for its eventual execution.

After a more than two-hour wait, interspersed by a short talk given by Milan Bohuš, complete with a practical demonstration of a slightly cracked chromed snap-hook made by the Austrialpin company, the wind is growing stronger before weakening, and at 3 p.m. free gliding is announced. But no one is brave enough to test the strong wind conditions and the starting point is quite deserted after around ten minutes.
It looks like the thermometer reading for Donovaly has become permanently stuck at 12°C, but at least it is no longer raining the overcast sky. One keg of beer and one containing the Czech soft drink kofola are rolled out to the campfire at Camp Kamzík as the third non-flight day comes to an end. And there are unconfirmed reports suggesting that the wind should be even stronger tomorrow.
