Wednesday October 10
Finally I have a chance to see, in daylight, where it is I find myself. Late last night I wandered hopelessly lost in the vast complex of low storied apartments in the middle of a jungle of palms and unknown clinging plants, my room key in hand, and was glad when, after twenty minutes I appeared back at the reception. With understanding, they led me along the paths, around ponds and to my door where they bade me a good night.

 In a hotel Asena Beach

The morning sky is clear and the air pleasantly cool. Cool meaning 20°C. Shortly after eight the sun looms up on the neighboring crest and the temperature immediately shoots up. Around nine paragliders and hangglider pilots load their equipment onto the upper level of two-level trucks and then seat themselves on benches along the lower level. One group is heading along the serpentines to an elevation of 1700 meters above sea level, while the second up to an even 2000 meters.

 Babadag - 1710m

In roughly an hour the first paragliders appear high above the crest and finish turning the bases at around 2700 meters. By now even the late sleepers have begun emerging from their dens. Even David Bzirsky appears on the beach, in good company as usual. The all-day, unremitting flow of landing paragliders and occasional hanggliders begins hitting the beach.

Landing on the beach in Ölüdeniz

While some paragliders demonstrate neck-breaking stunts over the ocean and fly in formations, other, more experienced pilots land on the rock sidewalk that lines the entire length of the sandy beach. Even though it is relatively crowded here, surprisingly no one gets into anyone else's way here, and nothing interferes with anyone's activities. The best numbers are performed by those who spiral all the way to the sand accompanied by the terrified cries of all tourists on the beach. A pro is a pro ...

 Yasemin from Tokat village

It's 29°C in the shade and that's supposedly no longer any heat. Why, the season is over here in two weeks. I begin to understand the purpose of the nightlife here. It is impossible to do anything without sweat profusely in the daytime.

Later in the afternoon, low over the sea and the beach, a powered hangglider shows off along with models of smaller motorized planes. Paragliders bravely aim for the round target, several parachutists jump from a plane and a hot air balloon takes off from the beach.

And because, in addition to the regular daily big screen showing of scenes from the day just passed, dancing, communication with arms and legs, today they're serving red Vavrinec wine, I'm finishing this off here for today ...
