"Why wait until five?" , several pilots ask loudly at the morning briefing, in regards to the late kick-off of today's party, when it is already obvious that the weather isn't fit for a dog. The temperature has dropped in comparison with yesterday, and it is drizzling from a dark grey sky.

The rain increases during the day and in light of the bad forecast for tomorrow, it is decided to kick off the wrap party today at 17:00 along with announcement of the results of this years IPC Cup Chopok.
Michal Orolin took first place in the overall placing over Peter Mensák and Peter Borgul who came in second and third, respectively.

Prizes in the "Professional" category were divided among the champion, Michal Orolin, second place Peter Mensák and third place, Juraj Čiernik.

Peter Borgula won in the "Hobby" category, with Peter Vyparina in Second place and Matúš Škvarka in Third.

And of course rewarded as well was the only competing woman, Monika Tranžíková, who placed 16th in the "Hobby" category and 28th overall. Too bad that of the Czech racers, only František Sperl and Jaroslav Melich, showed up, as the battle for the prize money could have been even more dramatic.
With the prizes distributed, the goulash eaten, the sausages ready, the wrap part begins with a bottle bought by the champion, Michal Orolin, who with his late arrival, delayed the announcement of the results by more than an hour. And because no one could stand the stomach growls of the hungry racers any longer, everyone hit the goulash before Michal's arrival.

In closing I would like to thank our traditional sponsor for the entire IPC Cup Chopok race, the Slovak company, IPC s.r.o., which provided my accommodations, including Internet access, and without whom the big prize money for the winner of this race would not be possible. And of course without the pleasant staff of the Hotel Björnson it wouldn't be the same either, what can we say - Peter B, however?!

So from tomorrow, on the other side of the Low Tatras for a change, at the competition Podbrezova Cup 2002 and back here next year at the Björnson Chalet and next year's IPC Cup Chopok 2003.
