"The weather Is terrible today - we're going to have to race again", announces Peter Mensák at the morning briefing In front of the Björnson chalet. Only ten pilots are here, the rest apparently still sleeping off yesterday's late arrival. The sun is beating down as usual, and the first white strands of cloud are beginning to appear above the peaks of the highest mountains.
Lone racer, Polish Jerzy Kraus sits at the Chopok starting ground thinking about who he'll be racing against today. Tiredness is apparent as most of the racers arrive panting after 11. The thermal elevator from the cable car is taken advantage of today, in addition to Juraj Kleja, Jaroslav Jandúch, Peter Kučera, Peter Vrabec and Matúš Škvarka.

Yesterday's long discipline so exhausted the racers, as well as the organizer's cashbox that today's assignment is a sober 42km and its entire route and keeps north of the crest of the Low Tatras. The starting point is the Polana saddle not quite four kilometers west of Chopok, with a turning points at Poludnica, Nižná Boca, Králova Lehota and the goal, this time, is near the village of Východná. The start window will be open from 12:30 to 14:30. The "Speed Run" style once again demands that everyone measure their individual time from take off.

Ten minutes after the opening of the start window, Juraj Kleja is followed into the air by Peter Vrabec and Tomáš Bernat. The main wave of take offs however begins another 40 minutes later, by which time Juraj Kleja, having flown around the starting point and disappears somewhere in the distance beyond the northeast horizon.

The high elevation of the Polana saddle once again separates the wheat from the chaff as already 12 pilots have been forced to land at Lúčky and its vicinity. Another group of 13 pilots terminates the flight on the way to Královy Lehoty on the third leg of the route, where altitudes drop due to the noticeable headwind. Unfortunate Jaroslav Jandúch lacks a mere 700 meters to the goal, similarly as does Slavomír Krupár. Gradually 17 pilots make it to the goal, five Polish and five Czech, including the Moravian Renáta Kuhnova and Pavel "Arthur" Kvarda.
Juraj Kleja makes the best time today and so becomes the winner in today's placing. Pavel Dohnálek is two minutes slower and so takes second place, and not quite two minutes longer is taken by Miroslav "Radar" Stěhula. Both took off today approximately 40 minutes after the winner.

Slávo Badár caused a sensation at the swimming pool in Liptovsky Jan by landing next to the pool at the 15th kilometer of the route. Not only did he save on admission, but he got free beer and food. If Králova hola and back and the route of tomorrow's discipline leads in this direction again, it is very likely that other paragliders will stop at the Liptovsky Jan swimming pool.
The first three positions in the overall placing of the race remain unchanged for today, only with Juraj Kleja changing Pavel Dohnalek's loss to 43 points with being the fastest on today's route. Renáta Kuhnová made it up to third place in the Hobby category as she begins to roll over the male pilots. Meaning of course with her performance in the IPC Cup Chopok.
