Thursday, July 11
In light of the possibilities of storms moving in during the crossing of the front, the morning break in exercises are shortened to a minimum and pilots hurry to the cable car.

 Early morning

The thermals are already visibly active by noon and the tandems taking off rise straight up. A 37km long discipline is quickly announced, then, at the briefing, with a shortened start window open from 12:25 to 14:45.

 No comment ...

Stefan Stefak takes off first today, followed by four others ten minutes later. Catching on isn't too difficult and furthermore the southwest wind gets noticeably stronger. Suddenly Jaroslav Jandúch hurls down, directly into the cables of the cable car from a height of barely 30m, in a series of strange acrobatic feats. He fights to the last minute, trying to get the chute going. Thanks to these efforts he lands on his feet just next to the cables, and shortly after is running off to the start again, with his paraglider over his shoulder.

 Jaroslav Jandúch has a problem

 Vít Mádr is taking off

While several pilots are already returning from the flight around Encian, back to the slope, Jaroslav Jandúch takes off again, together with the rest of the racing field. Taking off is no problem, but the clouds are darkening ominously and the first showers are forming North of the starting ground along the planned route to Ruzomberok. The discipline is cancelled at 13:35 for safety reasons and everyone quickly turns downward to the landing ground by the lower cable car station.

So the overall placing today remains the same and the leading racer is still Stefan, ahead of Jaroslav Jandúch in second and Peter Mensak in third.

"I'd rather see my father bleed than a spilled glass of wine", is a saying most pilots go by and in the evening they start their drinking cautiously.
