Tuesday, May 7
After a cold, foggy morning the skies are clear once again and the likelihood of storms is far smaller according to forecasts. By ten a.m. Robert Kralik has managed to employ not just the fire department but the paramedics as well, with his take off on an old Boomerang. Fortunately, all that comes of it is a dislocated shoulder.

The original discipline is changed at the second briefing to a return route with two turning points and an overall distance of 39 km. The goal line is placed, just like yesterday, in the saddle beneath Stranik.

Ten minutes before the opening of the window, Ondrej Dupal takes off on his own discipline, as he has in the end decided not to compete, although he was preliminarily registered. At the stroke of 12:30 Mirek Varvarovsky takes off, followed by an avalanche of others.

The wind is even slightly weaker than it was yesterday and take off is again from the southeast and even the west side. Catching on is no problem at all today and the field beneath Stranik remains empty a long while. Within an hour the majority of racers are in the air.

 After taking off

Cloud bases are forming today at altitudes of over 2000m and no storms appear. A shower in the vicinity of the first turning point however, sent several tens of pilots to earth and only the ones who flew through earlier are able to continue. Four minutes after the closing of the start window Radek Vecera is already landing at the goal and cannot believe he is the first to arrive. Michael Orolin, Mirek "Radar" Stehula, Antonin Pallas and Peter Mensak fly in a little later. Petr Kostrhun still has a chance, but ends up 600 meters short of the goal line.

The first four positions in the overall placement, following today, belong to the Avaxes and 52 racers receive 172 points from the scoring system for not having achieved the minimum distance.
