    Today is a repeat of yesterday with the only difference being that the alternate program offers a tour of the chateau and museum. Jozo Kunik Lopeji, eighth place last year , who's been missing this year here at Podbrezove, shows up in front of the lodgings at Lopeji this morning. So far, however, no one has seen Juraj Sladký, the winner year before last, who is evidently observing the show from backstage, just waiting for the right moment to join in.

    It begins to rain in the afternoon and the northwest wind picks up considerably. And, as Michal Oravec, flight director, wisely states, "You can't piss into the wind".

    Something really needs to happen with this weather, though, because the impending fourth non-competing day could pose heart attack risks. Even today some here are at a loss as to what to do with themselves.




    The meteorologists are not predicting any serious rains for tomorrow, but they do expect relatively strong westward winds. The weather station at Sněžka in the Krkonoš Mountains reports 41m/s, so it seems we have something to look forward to in the upcoming days. But as Lubin says, "The worst death is one of fright….!"
