    Even though it's not Friday 13th but Saturday today, the strong wind blows at a taking off zone again. However the speed of it isn't so high as it was during the last days. A temperature reaches 36°C and weather of the last competiton day looks suitable for a long task which sets the total ranking of PWC 2005.

    A 99.7km long task i declared at the taking of point at noon which spans four turning points ans a goal is placed in Vale de Amoreira. The starting window is open at one past noon and eventually the deadline is defined. Everybody must hand in his GPS before half past eight to download the tracklog. The ceremonial announcing of the winners will start two hours later.

 The winner of PWC 2005 Christian Maurer is taking a wine bath


    Weather of this day looks as if it would want to compensate the competitors for everything they have lost here since last Sunday and lifts with a speed over 8m/s raise up to a height of 4000 meters above see level this afternoon. One hundred of pilots pass over a minimum distance defined for today's task and 64 of them reach the goal finally. The winner of today's task Michael Witschi from Switzerland arrives to the goal as the first shortly before five o'clock leaving next Swiss pilot Christian Maurer 13 seconds behind him. David Ohlidal from Czech Republic lands two minutes later.

    The winner of the total ranking of this last competition in Portugal is Torsten Siegel from Germany, Marco Littame from Italy finishes as the second and Christian Maurer from Switzerland is the third.

    At the same moment the total results of The Paragliding World Cup 2005 are announced. The total winner of PWC 2005 is Christian Maurer from Switzerland, French Jean Pierre Max reached the second position and David Ohlidal was the third.

    Ewa Wisnierska from Poland gained the first position in the women category, Petra Krausova from Czech Republic was the second and Karin Appenzeller from Switzerland finished as the third. Swiss pilots won the nation category and they left French and Czech pilots behind.

    A season in Europe slowly comes to the end and nothing remains but to participate in The Czech Open in Slovenian Tolmin which starts on Monday, August 29th. Don't confuse the stadium this year, please!
