After the change of front there is a very clear sky and at the same time very cold early in the morning. Fresh west wind is blowing and Lysa Hora has got southwest about 9m/s in the temperature of 0°C, which means zero isotherm at the altitude of 1300 metres. The mountain top of Stranik is completely deserted today, except for the lonely Karel Vrbensky, nostalgically strumming a guitar; mainly the minor chords.
Shortly after ten brings on a west launch his paraglider Dmitrij Maslennikov, coming to this competition all the way from Moscow, and he is apparently feeling like flying, while it is still possible. After few minutes he is ending in a saddle under the Stranik, but at least he's got - as the only one - feeling that he did fly.

There is a 27km long task announced on a midday briefing, with no turning points and with a goal behind the village of Zazriva, but the sky is continuously cloudy and west wind much stronger. The wind is so cold, that most of men are looking for warm clothes in their rucksacks. After more than hour of freezing is this day declared as non competitive and everyone is coming to a chalet for gnocchi with brynza and bacon and for a yeast drink.
Our joining the European Union looks just in a week time as a very unhappy matter. The bad weather is from a west part of Europe getting here to Slovakia, without any limitations and it's not possible to fly here or there. The Euro-sceptics are riding high again ...
